Drive-out to Camp Verde (two nights at beautiful new Cliff Castle Casino Hotel), visit Sedona area, dinner at Black Bart’s Steakhouse in Flagstaff (with singing waiters and waitresses), lunch at Macky’s Grill in Payson. Mostly scenic two-lane highways, minimal Interstate driving, plenty to see and do.

September 24: 8:00 a.m. Starting at Basha’s in Catalina, head north on Hwy. 77 toward Globe. Snack and rest stops along the way. Exiting Globe, turn right on Hwy 188 to Payson. Stop for picnic lunch at Cottonwood Picnic Area, on the shore of Roosevelt Lake. Turn right onto Hwy. 87 into Payson. Stop for dessert. Head west on Hwy. 260 toward Camp Verde. Drive to Cliff Castle Casino Hotel. ETA: 3:15 p.m.
September 25: 9:00 a.m. Turn left out of hotel to enter I-17 south at Exit 289. Take Exit 287 to turn right on Hwy. 260 toward Cottonwood. Turn right on Hwy. 89A to Sedona. ETA: 9:45 a.m. Your choice in Sedona. Possible options: In Sedona – Sedona Chamber of Commerce (331 Forest Road, corner of Hwy. 89A and Forest). Shopping, restaurants, art galleries. Chapel of the Holy Cross, Cathedral Rock.
Outside Sedona – Montezuma’s Castle, Out of Africa (Allow 3-4 hours. $36.95 65 and up. $38.95 under 65.), Tuzigoot National Monument, Dead Horse Ranch State Park (hiking Trails), Slide Rock State Park. 4:00 p.m. All meet at pull-off on right side of Hwy. 89A (details at start of drive-out). Drive north to Black Bart’s Steakhouse in Flagstaff for dinner. Return to hotel by I-17 south.
September 26: 10:00 a.m. Leave hotel, traveling Hwy. 260 to Payson, where we stop for lunch at Macky’s Grill. Drive south on Hwy. 87 to Fountain Hills, stopping at Wendy’s for rest stop and snack. Take Loop 202 east in Tempe to Hwy. 60 east. Turn right on Hwy 79 to return home.

Total bottom line room charge: $137.60, per night, two queen beds or one king bed. We will be parked together in the rear of the hotel.
