VERDE CANYON RAILROAD
Our drive began in Tucson on Wednesday March 14th, we stayed overnight the 14th and 15th in Cottonwood taking in the Blazin M Ranch Western Dinner on Wednesday night and the train excursion on Thursday, and returned to Tucson on Friday March 16th.
After departing from Cracker Barrel at 8:00 a.m. and traveling through Prescott and Whiskey Row, we stopped to have lunch on our own. We departed from Prescott heading towards the old and picturesque mining town of Jerome. This drive included a 12 mile fun section of road ideal for the Miata. Our Miatas, new and old, hugged the sharp turns while beautiful views of mountains, canyons and valleys were all around us!
We then continued on to Cottonwood and checked into our rooms at the Best Western. Our evening was a very fun old western Dinner and Show at the Blazin M Ranch where we enjoyed a Chuckwagon Dinner that was followed with Western Style entertainment. The next day after breakfast we will drove over to the Train Depot for our 4-hour spectacular train ride.
This was a very fun trip for our 11 Driver/Navigator teams. Memorable show and train experiences and fun Miata driving including a little expecting the unexpected. Our driver skills and and our convoy driving was superb! Another Old Pueblo Miata Club fun, interesting drive out for all!
